Mommy Mingle was founded by two moms, Celebrity Chef & TV Personality, Kristin Sollenne and Experiential Educator and Consultant, Katie Skalka.
Mommy Mingle is a supportive social and educational community created by moms for moms. Simply put - we get it! The juggle is real, and we believe you shouldn’t have to navigate it alone. We’re here to help you lead an inspired, balanced and well-rounded life by providing the necessary tools to really rock this mama thing!
Through community-driven events our mission is to create a comfortable social setting for mamas and babies to mingle and engage with one another. Whether it’s a mommy and me lunch, musical adventure class, educational clinic or wellness retreat, Mommy Mingle provides the social, emotional and supportive community that is essential for every new mama.
Kristin (Sollenne) Malta
Kristin (Sollenne) Malta is the mama to her sweet son, Robert, who inspires her everyday. Married to her love, they live together on the Upper West Side of New York and own and operate five restaurants throughout the city, including Arte Cafe and Bocca Di Bacco.
As a culinary star and Food Network Judge, chef and nutritionist, Kristin, has made headlines for her contemporary food philosophy, lightened-up Italian fare, and approachable cooking tips, with regular appearances on CBS, NBC, FOX and Food Network.
At age 26, Kristin was an honoree of Zagat’s Top 30 under 30. She has cooked for Taylor Swift, Seth Rogan, Ed Sheeran and the entire SNL cast. She adds author under her belt with the release of two books - Domestic Chíc, A Fashionably Fabulous Guide to Cooking and Entertaining by the Seasons and the release of The Thinly Effect in 2017.
The now self proclaimed GlamaMama, strives to share fresh recipes, healthy living practices, beauty secrets and motivation to falling in love with taking care of yourself!

Katie Skalka moved to NYC in 2016 from North Carolina with her husband Jeff. They welcomed their first child, Natalie, in July 2017 and reside in Midtown West.
Katie began her career in education as an outdoor educator focusing on science, natural history, and team development. As an outdoor educator Katie worked with a variety of student populations and age ranges, specializing in students with disabilities and struggling teens. Her passion for developing strong social skills in youth and cultivating caring and engaging classrooms led her to Berkshire Arts and Technology Charter Public School (BArT Charter) in Adams, MA as the Director of Curriculum and Assessment. From there Katie went back into the classroom as a math and science teacher as well as summer programs director at Salisbury Academy in NC.
Katie is currently working as an education consultant with Koru Strategy Group and is a Certified Data Wise Coach. Her focus is on school improvement and culture. She holds a BA in Environmental Science and Policy and Education from Duke University and an MS in Outdoor Education from University of New Hampshire.
Katie is thrilled to be working with Kristin on this most recent passion project – creating a strong, vibrant community of parents and children.
